So many years of english learning but still can't speak, why?

A lot of English learners had learnt English for many years but could not put it to use. The question is, why couldn't they put it to use. That's very easy question for me, and here is the easy answer for the easy question - they never use it. As I had mentioned on my previous article the best way to learn english is from two channels of
input skill, that is listening and reading.

Thinking of learning english as input / output

There are, as you may know, 4 skills in learning any languages in the world, English has no exception for that. The first skill we learn our first language is listening, if you may ask why? well... every babies learn their mother tongue by listening to their parents and imitating the voice they heard.
That's the way we learn out first language, so it is very important skill that we should use to learn our second or third or ..... language. This skill I would call it an input skill. There is one more skill to categorize it as input skill, which is reading. Reading skill is also very important, event we haven't used it from the first day we were born as we did in listening.
There are 2 more skills which haven't put in any category yet, which are speaking and writing. I have them categorized as output skill. The first two input skills are very important to you, your writing and speaking skill would mostly base on these 2 skills, in other word, how well your writing or speaking is that depend on how well you listening and speaking is.
As ESL (English as as Second Language) learner, we usually find that listening skill is harder than reading, which is opposite to learning our mother tongue. Why? simply because we haven't learnt it in the natural learning order. Is that mean we have to re-ordering it? the answer is we can, if we want to. The good news is, we can do both skills at the same time, but all these process take some time to get the good result. Most people who start learning new language are expecting to be better overnight, which is impossible. Next article I will show you why some people learnt english for 12 years or more at school but still can't use it properly or even at all.
